Common questions
Is the BAC number accurate?
It is an estimate, and it is labeled as one everywhere. Abvy runs a one-compartment pharmacokinetic model from the clinical literature (absorption that depends on food, Watson body-water distribution, saturating liver clearance) on your body profile and what you logged. Log honestly and on time and the curve tracks reality well, but nothing on a phone can measure your blood: it cannot see the pint you forgot or the meal you skipped.
That is why every number wears an uncertainty range and the sober time is a window, not a promise. Never use Abvy to decide whether to drive: if you drink, do not drive.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google, never by us, so they are managed in your store account. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Abvy. On Android: Play Store → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Abvy.
Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends. The free trial converts to the yearly plan unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Refunds also go through the store: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google through the Play Store order history.
I paid but the app is locked.
Tap "Restore purchases" on the paywall (also under Settings → Subscription). Make sure the device is signed in to the same Apple or Google account you bought with. If it still does not unlock, write to us with the store receipt and we will sort it out.
Where is my data, and how do I move or delete it?
On your device. There is no account and no Abvy server; your drinks, sessions and body profile live in a local database we cannot see.
To move phones: Settings → Your data → "Export data to another device" (both phones on the same Wi-Fi), or export a CSV. On iPhone you can also turn on the end-to-end encrypted iCloud backup and restore it on a new device.
To delete everything: Settings → Your data → Factory reset. Uninstalling the app removes the local database too.
What leaves my phone?
Anonymous usage statistics (switch off under Settings → Your data → "Share anonymous usage data"), crash reports, and purchase receipts validated by the store. Drink details are never included unless you separately opt in. The privacy policy has the full list.
What does it run on?
iPhone (iOS 17.2 or later) and Android, with home-screen widgets, a Live Activity on iPhone, and Apple Watch and Wear OS apps. Abvy speaks English, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Spanish and Turkish; it follows your device language.
The Play Store says "item not found".
That only happens during the closed test. Make sure you opted in with the same Google account your phone uses for the Play Store, then give it up to an hour and open the store link again.
The fine print
- Privacy Policy: what stays on your device and the little that leaves it.
- Terms of Service: the agreement between you and us, including the BAC disclaimer.
- Consumer Health Data: disclosures for Washington, Nevada and Connecticut residents.
