Alcohol tracking on your Apple Watch
The phone stays in the pocket. The evening stays measured. September 2026.
The best drink tracker is the one you actually use at drink four, not the one you reconstruct tomorrow. Abvy on the watch is two taps from the wrist - and it taps back when your own limit gets close.

Log without breaking the conversation
The watch app puts your repeat-last drink and four favorites one tap away, with water and food as first-class buttons next to them. Every log confirms on the wrist with the updated sober estimate - and a 60-second undo, because wrong taps happen at a bar. Logged a beer an hour late? Turn the crown to backdate it, up to four hours in 15-minute steps.
The evening at a glance
The Now screen shows your current estimate in your local unit, the 5-level status from sober to drunk, the estimated sober window, and tonight's projection drawn as a curve. Spin the crown to scrub forward in time - "where will I be at midnight?" is a flick of the wrist, not a mental calculation. A second screen tracks the shape of the night: your estimated peak, when you'll start feeling the last drink, and when the next one fits your pace.
Haptics at the moments that matter
Set your own limit and the watch taps you quietly: when you're approaching it, when you cross it, when you're back under, when pacing opens for another drink, at your estimated peak, and at your estimated sober moment. Nobody at the table sees a thing.
On the watch face all night
One complication, four styles - a circular gauge against your limit, a corner readout, a rectangular card with a miniature curve, and an inline line. During a session it surfaces in the Smart Stack on its own and quietly steps back once you're sober, and it updates all night from a precomputed curve, so the face stays truthful without draining the battery. In privacy contexts the number redacts itself.
It needs a paired iPhone - the estimate is computed on the phone and the watch shows it. If your phone is out of reach, drinks you log on the watch queue locally and sync the moment the connection is back, so nothing gets lost mid-evening.
The watch app ships with Abvy - one subscription, every surface: iPhone, watch, widgets, Live Activity.
Abvy estimates - it never measures. It is not a breathalyzer and can't tell you whether you're under a legal limit or fit to drive.
